Diesel

Just because your car runs on diesel doesn’t mean it can’t benefit from quality Chevron fuel. Chevron’s Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) meets EPA and CARB fuel regulations, and can be used in all cars that run on traditional diesel fuel. It’s also approved for use on all next-generation ultra-clean diesel engines.

kscD

The Benefits of Using ULSD Over Traditional Forms of Diesel Include:

  • Reduced particulate emissions
  • Enables the use of sophisticated exhaust systems in your vehicle

Look for the ULSD Label

If you happen to purchase a new diesel-powered car that requires ULSD, make note that it cannot run on anything but ULSD. Using non-ULSD can damage your vehicles emissions control system and may result in costly repairs. If you live outside California, always check the labels on the diesel pump to ensure you’re getting ULSD. In California, all diesel is required to be ULSD. If you are unsure of whether or not your car requires ULSD, check your owner’s manual.

Suspension and Steering Services:

Steering, suspension and driveline components that are worn out can cause a number of issues, including premature tire wear, noise, vibration and misalignment. Our auto care experts will perform a comprehensive suspension and steering inspection with every alignment. Steering control and handling will be vastly improved by replacing worn parts and return your vehicle to its intended operating performance.

At times, misalignment may not show symptoms, while still damaging your tires and even prematurely wearing them out. At Klahanie Service Center, we will inspect the condition of your vehicle’s steering and suspension components and align your tires according to manufacturer specifications. This will keep your vehicle driving properly

Wheel Balance

Wheel Balance

Wheel Balance

If your tires are unbalanced, you may experience uneven vibration, wear and unsafe driving conditions

At KlahanieServiceCenter, our experts will balance your tires and ensure they are moving as evenly as possible. This will ensure maximum driving performance for your vehicle

Our tire balance service includes:

  • Removal of tires and wheels
  • Mount each tire on a specialized balancing machine
  • Spinning each tire to ensure the weight of wheel and tire are evenly balanced around the axle
  • Locating and fixing any imbalance
  • Attachment of a lead weight to counteract any opposite side weight differences
  • Remount wheels and tires

Why is it important for my tires to be balanced?

Daily wear to your tire tread can cause impairment of weight distribution around the wheels and tires. Keeping your tires balanced will reduce potential vibrations of the steering wheel, floors or seats. Having your wheels balanced will help ensure:

  • A smoother drive
  • A reduction of tire wear
  • Properly functioning drive-train components

How often should my wheels be balanced?

Klahanie Service Center recommends your wheels to be balanced every 3k miles- 6k miles. If you are experiencing vibrations or other symptoms, you should bring your vehicle in right away for a wheel balancing.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Tire Pressure – Monitoring System

Proper tire pressure maintenance will ensure optimal safety and handling of your vehicle

At Klahanie Service Center, we recommend having your tire pressure monitoring system inspected by our certified technicians. This inspection starts with a systems check on all tire pressure sensors to pinpoint any potential problem. This test also includes:

  • Test the vehicle’s tire pressure
  • Inspect the tire assembly sensor to ensure it is transmitting date correctly to your vehicle’s computer system
  • If needed, replace pressure sensors
  • Reset the sensors with our specialized TPMS tool
  • Replace the cap, nut, valve core and o-ring seal
  • Remount the tires

Why is it important to maintain my vehicle’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)?

Your vehicle’s TPMS is an electronic component needed to monitor the air pressure of your tires. Tires need optimal inflation to achieve these potential benefits:

  • Optimal vehicle safety and handling
  • Optimal fuel efficiency
  • Lessened tread wear to tires
  • Reduction in braking distance
  • Reduction in CO2 emissions

How can I tell when I need to have my TPMS tested?

Most of today’s vehicles come equipped with tire pressure monitoring components. If you see a ‘low tire pressure’ warning light when the ignition is turned on with the key, then you have a TPMS system. If your warning light comes on and stays lit, it means your tire pressure has fallen to 25 or more percent below the manufacturer’s standard level. You should immediately bring your vehicle to Klahanie Service Center for an inspection and correction of tire pressure and sensors

Tire Installation

Tire Installation

Tire Installation

Over time, the tires on your vehicle can develop normal wear and tear through continuous contact with the road surface. This eventually leads to the wearing down of tire tread, which can be dangerous in certain conditions, such as wet or snowy roads. When the grooves of the tire are so worn down that they don’t properly channel water from beneath the tread, hydroplaning occurs. Hydroplaning can be extremely dangerous, as the tire treads are only skimming the surface of the water and the steering wheel is not responding. It is important to make sure your tires are in safe working condition.

What are the warning signs that I need new tires?

  • If the depth of your tire’s tread is beneath 1/16 of an inch (roughly 1.6 mm). If you insert a penny face down into the groove and      can see Lincoln’s head, you are in need of new tires.
  • If you can visibly see the tread wear indicator bars. These bars run perpendicular to the grooves of the tread. If you see them,      you need new tires.
  • If the sidewall of your tires is visible and showing cuts or cracks. This could indicate that your tires might soon begin to leak.
  • If your tires are showing blistering or bulging. This indicates weak areas in your tire, which could cause a blow out.

If you notice any of these warning signs, your tires need to be inspected and replaced. At Klahanie Service Center, we carry a supply of name brands tires you can choose from. Our expert technicians will install them for you.

Come in, call, or email us today- we will be happy to assist you with all your vehicle’s needs.

  • Rebalance tires & wheels on assembly
  • Reactivate the tire pressure monitoring component if needed

Why is it necessary for my tire to be properly repaired?

If you are driving on a tire that has lost air or has been punctured, it is imperative for your safety to have it repaired right away. One of our service technicians will inspect your tire and determine or repair or replacement is needed, and will service your vehicle as needed. Having your flat tire fixed will help to:

  • Keep your tire tread free of punctures
  • Prevent future tire damage from the puncture
  • Keep your vehicle’s tire pressure at the recommended manufacturer’s levels

How often should I have my tires inspected?

Your tires should be inspected on a monthly basis to detect irregular tread, cuts, punctures, embedded debris, cracks, etc. If your tires have any of these conditions, you may be losing tire pressure. Your tires should be removed and inspected to determine whether repair or replacement is needed.
